Favorite Heartbeats: The Land Of a Thousand Lakes

<< This is what I’m talking about – beautiful scenery even though the sun wasn’t out. Can you guess what I’m doing here on lake Näsijärvi? >>

<< Loving blackcurrants lately! A quick and healthy-ish blackcurrant quark for dessert it izzz >>

<< Color-coordinated with pretty flowers >>

<< I buy & refill these mini virgin olive oil bottles and use them for salads on the go and to remove my make-up. Double the benefit! >>

<< Today’s shopping cart: newly harvested carrots (planning to munch them with hummus), lemons (always!), cracker (saves my ass when this is all gone), 2 kinds of sprouts (you know I love all things crunchy) & a small bag of marshmallows (hello Valentine’s Day) >>

Last week was a bit grey and boring. God please let spring be soon on its way?!

We spent the weekend at my parents’ house in Tampere. Chill time with some outdoor activities, lots of blinis (yumm!), sauna, movies.. We went to see a movie called Järven Tarina (Tale of the Lake) – a beautiful filming of Finland’s prestigious lakes and their nature. As a kid I wanted to become a marine biologist, so I really enjoyed watching it. Underwater life is just so intriguing!

It’s crazy to think that our small country has almost 190 000 lakes. One (or better said 187 888) reason to be a proud Finn!

We were enjoying ourselves outdoors in “Nässy”, the biggest lake in Tampere. The scenery was beautiful, all white and a bit foggy. We got a few rays of sun too, but then they quickly vanished again and only the grey clouds remained.

Fingers crossed for some sunny days!
